Collectible Game Terrain

Where it started and where it's headed.

2019: Goofin' Off

In 2019, we decided to start designing and producing our own laser-cut terrain. When you have a partner like Susan, you never have the problem of someone telling you not to go for it. Actually, it's the reverse problem. She usually says we should just do it, and then you have to make it work.

I'll tackle that "problem" anytime.

2020: Covid Pivot

2020 seemed off to a strong start, but then the COVID-19 pandemic hit us on multiple fronts. We were healthy and well-supported and had jobs that were judged to be essential, we had it way better than a lot of other folks and were generally grateful.

But, we were vaxxed and masked and keeping away from vulnerable family members as everything ground to a halt. Our plans to launch a kickstarter were postponed with super-high and widely variable shipping and material costs. At that point we had designed a lot of cool tiles and had a place to produce them, but rest of the equation did not work.

But we kept building out the concept and waited for a better launch window. We built a lot of other stuff as well.

2020: Not-a-Nautiloid

Trapped at home and growing increasingly bored and insane, we decided to build a playable 32mm scale spell driven airship, we called it the "Not-A-Nautiloid" and trotted it out to various shows in support of our simplified ship to ship combat rules. Suffice it to say, it was a hit and we got a lot of nice compliments.

2021: Back on Track

Tiles shown are pre-Kickstarter prototypes.
